Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

Yellowstone - the Super volcano is located primarily in  Wyoming, but expanded in Montana and Idaho, and  covers almost two million acres. Yellowstone experiences thousands of small earthquakes every year, virtually all of which are undetectable to the  tourists. The park contains the largest active geyser in the world. There are 300 geysers in Yellowstone and a total of at least 10,000 geothermal features altogether. Half the geothermal features and two-thirds of the world's geysers are concentrated in it. The park has over 290 waterfalls, Yellowstone Lake is the largest high altitude  lake in North America. Hot springs and chromatic pools are one of the most photographed areas of the park.

Established in 1872, Yellowstone National Park is the first  American national park—an idea that spread worldwide.
